We believe that ingesting complex mixtures of plant and mushroom primary & secondary metabolites is key to optimal health and happiness.

At Grow & Glow, we have created products to help you energise, calm and rejuvenate.

Our non-alcholic tonics and drinks are formulated and infused with high-quality, proprietary blends of adaptogenic, nervine, herbs and musrooms - using the power of nature to support our health and wellbeing.

The use of adaptogenic herbs and mushrooms have been said to aid in helping the body adapt to stress, support the immune system, improve mental clarity, and boost energy levels. Our nourishing nervine herbs support in calming the nervous system, which can assist in the relief of reducing anxiety, stress, improving sleep and imporove overall health and wellbeing.

Let us help you find your inner grow for the outer glow.

How do we make our formulas?

Our unique combination of whole and pre-extracted plants and fungi is paired with a cutting-edge extraction technique known as ultrasonic emulsification. Our process utilizes sonic cavitation to transform pharmaceutical-grade plants, herbs, and mushrooms into a non-alcoholic glycerine that is both sustainable and vegan, extracted from rapeseed. By utilizing ultrasonic technology, we are able to homogenize our blends on a microscopic level, resulting in a superior extraction method than traditional forms. Our ultrasonic process guarantees a finer dispersion of active ingredients within our formulas, ensuring optimal bioavailability and enhancing potency.

The Adaptogen Advantage

In recent years, adaptogens and botanicals have been growing in popularity due to further research in the field detailing their amazing benefits.

  • What are Adaptogens?

Adaptogens are natural substances, including herbs, mushrooms, and roots, that can help the body adapt to stress and improve its overall ability to cope with physical, emotional and environmental stressors. They work by regulating the body's response to stress by enhancing the body's natural resilience to physical and emotional stress, as well as increasing overall vitality and well-being. Some well-known adaptogens include ashwagandha, rhodiola, ginseng, and holy basil, and they have been used for centuries in traditional medicine practices.

  • What are Tonics?

Our tonic substances are used to improve and restore physical or mental health. The idea is to consume them via our drops and drinks to promote balance and vitality and invigorate the biological functions of the body.

  • What are Nervines?

Nervines are natural remedies that help to calm and soothe the nervous system. In our case, they are plants and herbal supplements that work to support the body's ability to manage stress, anxiety, and other emotional imbalances. Nervines can help to promote relaxation, improve sleep quality, and reduce nervous tension.

  • Fungi?

  • Mushroom Fruiting Bodies?

  • Mushroom Mycelium?

We source, extract and formulate with whole mushroom extracts (fruiting body, mycelium and spores) these extracts contain complex therapeutic mixtures of active compounds.

Extracting all of the fungi during its growing cycle enables us to authentically capture and share the true potential of each fungi in our tonics.

Fruiting body – the ‘mushroom’ or the above ground part of the fungi, what many people believe to be the main part of the fungi. Many plants reproduce by flowering; however, fungi’s organs of reproduction are mostly the spore containing above ground forms of fungi.

Fruiting bodies come in many forms and structures, stalks, caps, cups, fingers, jellies, and ears, whilst others produce brackets emerging from the trees.

Spores – Microscopic fungi ‘seeds’ released by fungi to reproduce and spread to new environments

Mycelium  - Beneath the ground growing through the soil under the earth and trees lies a complex network of tubular filaments. These networks of filaments called mycelium are actually the main body of the fungus.

These mycelium are the fungi’s electro chemical communication system, involved with reproduction, the decomposition of organic matter and obtaining nutrients to support development and growth. Mycelial networks also connect and support the surrounding nature by providing nutrients to the roots of other plants, trees and fungi.

When conditions are right, usually once or twice a year the mycelium gather together to form a larger mass called the fruiting body. The fruiting bodies are akin to the fruits of a plant, they come in many forms, shapes and colours with the traditional ‘fungi’ bursting through the ground into view as a stalk, cap or mushroom.

Primary & Secondary Metabolites For Health

  • What are primary metabolites?

  • What are secondary metabolites?

Primary metabolites are essential for growth and the development of plants and fungi, they consist of carbohydrates, organic & amino acids and proteins.

Much of the research on mushrooms particularly around immunity is focused on the long chains of carbohydrates called polysaccharides (beta-glucans and proteoglycans).

We extract and infuse the fruiting bodies of a number of medicinal fungi in our tonics.

Secondary metabolites or plant chemicals are the therapeutic, flavour & aroma molecules (terpenes, phenolics, glycosides and alkaloids), these are produced by the plants and mushrooms to increase their fitness and allow them to interact with their environment, pathogens, herbivorous, other organisms and symbiotic insects.

Plants and fungi have developed and evolved secondary biochemical pathways that allow them to synthesize a raft of chemicals, often in response to specific environmental stimuli, such as herbivore-induced damage, pathogen attacks, or nutrient depravation.

Many of these secondary metabolites offer a wide range of therapeutic actions and are often adaptogenic as the plants and fungi have to deal with a great deal of environmental stress.
